Name + Symbol for Yuan Synth

As we move into the near future, we will need to decide upon a scaleable naming convention for our new synths.

With virtually an unlimited number of synthetic assets, a universal but scaleable naming convention is needed to provide fast lookups and name recognition in the public.

For example, one method is to continue using the “x” suffix, such that new synths will be called EURx and YUANx.

The synth bonds will be called eurxBond and yuanxBond respectively.

Let’s open this for discussion and come to concensus.

I would argue that the naming of USDx is resulting in it getting less exposure, as it’s not performing well in search results. Although I don’t think it would be as a big issue with either EURx or YUANx. But just something to keep in mind.

I like the change to xBond icon/color to match USDx, so they look more like a couple. The same can be done with EURx + eBond (blue color) and YUANx + yBond (red color).

How about USD3, USD3Bond, SHARE3

  1. Protocol uses 3 tokens to form a whole
  2. Pretty much all combinations are unique
  3. It‘s easy to remember
  4. Base symbol + 3 makes unique & memorable token logo like €3
  5. The best things come in threes

CNY3, CNY3Bond, SHARE3
GOLD3, GOLD3Bond, SHARE3
FDAX3, FDAX3Bond, SHARE3

Problem with this is that it will not be scalable, as it will be limited to the possibilities of the first letter. Gold and GBP, or Yuan and Yen, to name a few.

My suggestion would be to use following naming conventions

USDS - USDB - SHARE
EURS - EURB - SHARE
YUANS - YUANB - SHARE

“S” in USDS can mean “seignorage, share or stable”
“B” in USDB means “bond”

i vote for this one, i think it follows Dollar Protocol name very good

for Bonds idk tho

Id think our first and most important coin should have the name of the project - Dollar Protocol $DP or perhaps Dollar Protocol Coin $DPC. I also think that the word protocol` distinguishes DP from other projects, so I would keep that moving forward in the name of other synths as well, ie Euro Protocol $EP or Euro Protocol Coin $EPC, same with Yuan, Gold etc.
I agree SHARE is just SHARE, perfect as it is.
Bonds could be called Dollar Protocol Bond $DPB, Euro Protocol Bond $EPB,etc.

Somehow related to DP branding.

I like the x suffix, even if just in the short term…
Anything more clever than that I think would actually be best accomplished by a full rebrand of the entire protocol
